Hi there! Welcome to my Gender Pay Gap reporting portal. I hope you've found the data interesting and useful. The Gender Pay Gap Information Act means that companies with more than 250 employees we required to create and publish a report outlining their gender pay gap, and while it's good that the information is public now, the lack of a central portal really impacts its usefulness. Without a central portal, it's hard to look up data for companies, hard to compare like for like, and hard to track change over time. Some companies haven't kept their previous reports in the same place, or have just overwritten the page with new results, making it even harder to see if things have changed. As far as I'm concerned, that's not good enough.
Why am I doing this?
I have been working in tech since I graduated, in a variety of different roles. I have some personal experience with the gender bias present in tech, and was inspired by the UK Gender Pay Gap twitter bot to create a publicly accessible database of all the Irish records I could find. I believe that sharing this data, making it easily accessible to everyone, makes this data useful and enables people to make informed decisions about their employment.
Who Am I?
My name is Jennifer Keane. This started as a small section on my personal site and has now grown into a larger project. I am a product manager, and former software engineer, with a keen interest in gender equality. I have been working in the tech industry for over 15 years, in a variety of roles. Until the government steps up and provides an official central portal for gender pay gap reporting and querying, I'm doing my best to provide a solution. Every number included here is based on the reports published by the companies themselves, and transcribed accurately to the very best of my ability.
Is this site the same as GPG.ie?
Yes, it has moved here from gpg.ie. I bought the gpg.ie domain because it was the best one available at the time. The previous owner of PayGap.ie has given this domain to me to share my work, so I've migrated the site to here instead.
